Good And Easy Eats Book Review and Giveaway!

Apr 04 2012 by

In the beginning, when my family and I first switched to eating a ‘clean’ diet, it felt like we didn’t have any food choices and I was at a lost for what to feed them.  If I couldn’t feed my kids hot dogs what would they eat?! After a few weeks I realized all the wonderful foods that were out there and available to us.  Yet again, I felt this way when we made the switch to a plant based diet.  I literally had no idea what to put on the table at meal times.  Now of course I can’t imagine eating any other way!

The beginning is always hard and often I wished I had had a cheat sheet with recipes and meals that were tasty, simple and quick to make.  A cheat sheet like Good and Easy Eats by Kim Wilson.  Every recipe in this book is dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, yeast-free, wheat-free and gluten free.  You don’t need any unusual kitchen gadgets and the ingredients list is simple and uses basic items you’ll find in your pantry.

For those that have been recently diagnosed with a food allergy or has a family member that is affected by one you will throughly enjoy this book.  The recipes include tasty favorites like pizza, biscuits and gravy, macaroni and ‘cheese’ and chili and cornbread.  When you’ve just been diagnosed with a food allergy having recipes like these tried and true favorites are a real blessing.

How would you like a chance to win a copy of this book and enjoy all 70 yummy recipes yourself?!  Even if you don’t suffer from food allergies or dietary restrictions you’ll love the delicious recipes.  You have until Friday, March 6th at 11:59pm EST to enter.  The winner will be announced Monday on our Facebook page.  Good Luck!

One and a half years age I started a journey to get healthy. (I was very over weight.) With many small steps I have lost 90lbs and now live “the clean life” We sprout & smoothie but the hardest thing is dinner. I have always centered my meals around meat, so this is a whole new concept. It has been alot of work but I feel fabulous. I discovered your blog through pinterest and have tried several of your recipes. Thank you for helping and inspiring newbies like myself.

  11. Jana says:

Our kids have had allergies since young. Food allergies and environmental. We actually did the 4 day rotation diet for almost 15 years. I feel, because of that, we are so much healthier. Also, because off all that, I stopped any processed foods, sugars, fillers, chemicals, etc…made most things from raw ingredients and from scratch. We would “cheat” when we went out to dinner or to someone’s house. Most food allergies are totally under control. Now I just try to prepare and cook “clean eating” meals. All but one of my kids prefer healthy foods, the one is just being a stinker! :)

Our entire family began our version of ‘eating clean’ on the 1st of the year and the benefits are ASTOUNDING…truly! It’s not easy with three young kids (twin boys aged 4.5 and girl aged 6.5) as so many celebrations centre around food but the benefits are worth it! I would love to have another tool and go to source for ideas.

PS I think the date on the deadline is perhaps incorrect and I almost passed this chance by until I saw that everyone’s entry was recent and realized that the deadline date may be an error.

    • Sarah says:

Thanks for your blog – it has been a big blessing and I have made several things from it. My kids absolutely love your crunchy taco salad! Thanks again.
